During a routine inspection
People who used the service told us that staff were polite and respectful towards them and that they had been involved in planning and reviewing their care and support. The registered manager told us, 'We encourage family, friends and representatives to get involved in the process too, so that we end up with the best result for person concerned'.
The two people and two carers that we spoke with told us that they were generally happy with the care that was provided for them. One person told us, 'The care staff can easily do everything I need and we always have a nice chat at the same time. They don't just treat me with respect they are very kind'.
We noted that guidance regarding safeguarding people from abuse was available to staff and that they had received recent relevant training. One person we spoke with told us, 'It's very important to be able to trust the people who care for you and I do'.
We saw that staff were provided with appropriate training and that their performance was regularly monitored to ensure that standards were maintained. In addition, we noted that staff were given opportunities for further training and professional development.
We noted that the service had a comprehensive set of systems in place to monitor and assess the standards of care being provided to people and that it acted appropriately on the information received.
