Neville Lodge is a residential care home providing personal and nursing care for to up to 6 people. The service provides support to adults with learning disabilities and autistic people. At the time of our inspection there were 3 people using the service. We expect health and social care providers to guarantee people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices and independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. 'Right support, right care, right culture' is the guidance CQC follows to make assessments and judgements about services supporting people with a learning disability and autistic people and providers must have regard to it. We carried out our on-site assessments on 31 January 2024 and 9 February 2024. Off site assessment activity started on 14 February 2024 and ended on 16 February 2024. We looked at the quality statements in Safe and Well-Led to identify improvements since the last assessment. The last rating for this service was inadequate (published 17 July 2023) and there were breaches of regulations. The provider completed an action plan after the last assessment to show what they would do and by when to improve. This service has been in Special Measures since 17 July 2023. During this assessment the provider demonstrated improvements had been made and the service is no longer rated as inadequate overall or in any of the key questions. Therefore, this service is no longer in Special Measures. The provider had taken action to address the concerns raised at our last inspection and had supported the entire staff team through a period of change. The ethos, values, attitudes and behaviours of leaders and staff ensured people could lead confident, inclusive and empowered lives. Staff felt supported by the management team. The overarching governance system included a series of audits which checked areas such as medication, cleanliness and support planning.
