During a routine inspection
- "I couldn't be in a better place. Very, very nice staff. The food is good and I don't see what more they could do." They added that they feel safe in the home, they had brought their own furniture, including bed and bedding, and that staff do not make them do anything they do not wish to do.
- "Very satisfied with my room and the food.' Asked about adequacy of staff numbers we were told they were sufficient and: "They certainly know what they are doing".
- "Lots of choice, a varied menu and plenty of it."
- "Food is good.'
- "Food is excellent."
We met most of the people who use the service. Watching them interact with staff it was clear that they are relaxed and have good relationships with staff and management.
We were told by a person visiting:
"They're very good here because they care about people. There's lots of smiles and my friend is kept as clean as a pin. People are able to be individual; some dress up and some dress down. I have never heard staff shout at any body. I've seen them in some quite difficult situations and they manage to keep it low. I'd be happy to work or live here."
One of several comments, received as part of the home's survey of opinion, read:
"The quality of care is the best I have seen in a care home. The staff are all exceptionally caring and kind."
