We revisited the clinic in March 2012 to make sure improvements had been made. We looked at the records of 26 people. These showed that both doctors involved in agreeing for a procedure to take place had completed an assessment in line with the legal requirements of the Abortion Act 1967. During our visit, we did not speak to people using the service.
The majority of people who used the service told us that they were happy with the care they received at the clinic and that their care and support needs were being met. They told us that staff explained their care, treatment and support choices to them and that they had the opportunity to be involved in making decisions about their care.
People told us that they were listened to and treated with respect by staff working at the clinic. They told us that their dignity had been respected. One person told us 'I have been given lots of information, my confidentiality and privacy has been respected and I have been given advice about after care. I have no concerns about the clinic.'
