There was a positive culture at the home and staff were open and friendly. Staff placed high value on the well being of people. The registered manager ensured people were treated with respect and followed the principles of human rights. Detailed care plans ensured staff were able to support people appropriately.

The service had a positive culture that was open and friendly. People and visitors told us they were happy with the service. They told us they were confident any concerns were listened to.

Through observation and discussions with the registered manager and provider it was evident that they wanted to provide a good quality and person-centred service. They placed high value on the wellbeing of people. The Registered Manager was aware of human rights principles and had taken action to ensure these were adhered to. This included if people had any needs relating to protected characteristics such as religious preferences.

People’s needs were considered, and their communication needs were assessed and recorded as part of the care planning process. Care plans were detailed and contained guidelines for staff for emotional support for the person. Care plans were person centred and considered all aspects of a persons life, including, sexuality, medical history, mental capacity and activities and interests.
