During a routine inspection
People experienced care, treatment and support that met their needs and protected their rights. We spoke with a relative of someone using the service. They told us their family member was happy at the service and said, 'If he's happy, we're happy.' They said, 'He's very happy. There are no problems with staff or the manager. They are very nice and approachable. I've never heard one of them grumble. It's a lovely atmosphere in the house and staff are happy.'
People were cared for in a clean, hygienic environment.
A Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) check had not been applied for, for one member of staff and a full employment history, together with a satisfactory written explanation of any gaps in employment were not available for two staff.
There was an effective complaints system available. Comments and complaints people made were responded to appropriately.
