Our current view of the service

Twelve Trees is a residential care home that can accommodate up to 34 people. At the time of the assessment there were 34 people living at the service. The service provides support to older people, some of whom are living with dementia. We rated this service under our previous methodology on 18 July 2017, where it was inspected and rated good overall, and for all key questions. We carried out this assessment on 8 February 2024. We looked at 5 quality statements; Safeguarding; Involving people to manage risks; Safe and effective staffing; Independence, choice and control and Equity in experiences and outcomes.
We found the service was meeting the quality statements we assessed and remains rated good overall.
People's experience of the service

All the people and relatives spoken with gave us positive feedback about the service, staff and the care provided. Comments included, “There is no room for improvement and I would definitely recommend here” and “I can’t think of anything to improve and they [staff] are always very pleasant.”
People told us they felt safe and had no worries or concerns and felt confident they could raise concerns if they needed to. People told us there were enough staff available when they needed help or support. One person said, “The staff don’t feel to be rushing around and they have time for me. The staff are kind and caring.”
Relatives told us staff were well trained. People and/or their relatives told us they actively involved in their care planning . Relatives told us they were kept fully informed about their family member’s wellbeing.
People were treated as individuals and their views sought and listened to. Comments included, “I can make my own choices through the day” and “I can choose what I want to do. I go down to the dining room and they have entertainment on there.”
People had access to activities and the local community to promote and support their independence, health and wellbeing. One person said, “I think there are enough activities. I loved it at the Cathedral.”
