During a routine inspection
People we spoke with said their home was nice and when we asked one person with limited communication if they were happy living there, they smiled. Some people showed us around their homes and appeared to be happy and relaxed in their surroundings. They told us that they had been involved in choosing the d'cor in their flats or individual bedrooms and houses. Peoples own rooms or flats were individualised with their own belongings which reflected their personalities. We observed people moving freely around their homes and spending time undertaking activities of their choice, including watching television, DVD's, colouring books and making a cup of tea. One person told us, that their home was nice and said, 'I like living here'.
During our visits we observed sufficient staff available to support the people in their own homes. The atmosphere in each of the houses was relaxed and calm. People who were able to told us that staff were kind and treated them well.
