Our current view of the service

Milton Grange is a care home that provides personal care for up to 16 older people. At the time of the inspection, there were 13 people living at the service. The service provides care and support to older people and people living with dementia. We carried out our on site assessment on 9 January 2024, off site activity started on 9 January 2024 and ended on 12 January 2024.
We looked at 5 quality statements; Safeguarding; Involving people to manage risks; Safe and effective staffing; Independence, choice and control and Equity in experiences and outcomes.
People's experience of the service

People told us they enjoyed living at Milton Grange and felt safe with the staff. People and their relatives felt involved in their care, they felt listened to and were confident any concerns would be dealt with appropriately. A relative told us, " They are very welcoming, they make you feel like you can ask them anything. It's a nice, friendly care home. I think it's run really well." Another realtive said, " They always listen to us and keep us informed about everything. Everything they do they do really well."
People and relatives told us they could raise their views and these views would be acknowledged and actioned. People told us staff were kind, friendly, caring and treated them as individuals, ensuring they were given maximum choices on how they would like to spend their day.
People and relatives told us there were enough staff on each shift to care for people safely. People told us the staff team knew them well and knew their likes and dislikes. Staff had completed all required training and people and relatives told us the staff knew their job well and were well trained."
