Our view of the service
The assessment of Aspen Manor Care Home commenced on 2 July and ended on 5 August, which included visiting the service on 4 and 9 July 2024. We undertook the assessment in response to concerns raised, and to follow up on enforcement action taken following the previous inspection. The service had made improvements and are no longer in breach of regulations. There was a proactive and positive culture of safety, based on learning from, safeguarding concerns, incidents and the analysis of data, underpinned by improvements in the assessment and mitigation of risk. Partnership working with external health care professionals had improved, as had systems and processes to support the effective sharing of information across the staff team. Oversight, governance and monitoring of the quality of the service had improved, supported by analysis of data and the development of action plans to drive improvement. Staff benefited from ongoing training, supervision and support. Staff spoke positively of the leadership of the service and the approachability and inclusivity offered by the management team.
