Caring
People and their relatives were actively involved in developing their care plans. People told us staff were kind and compassionate and supported them to be independent if this was their choice. Staff could describe how they supported people to maintain independence and with choice and control and policies supported this practice.

Independence, choice and control
People told us that they were involved in discussions about their care plan, staff were kind and caring, and they were supported to be independent. People were treated with dignity and respect and their independence promoted. Comments from people and relatives included, “The staff are very kind. We have a good chat. “Another person said, “The staff are kind, and we have a good laugh.” One relative commented,” . “The carers are very kind. My relative has no mobility and their standard of personal care is excellent. They are always really clean, well dressed and cared for.”
Staff met with people and their relatives to discuss their support and any changes that were needed. Staff could describe how they encouraged people to maintain independence and how they supported them to have choice and control over their lives.
The provider understood the diverse health and care needs of people and their local communities, so care was joined-up, flexible and supported choice and continuity. People’s care and treatment was delivered in a way that met their assessed needs from services that are co- ordinated and responsive.

Workforce wellbeing and enablement
Staff had regular opportunities to provide feedback, raise concerns and suggest ways to improve the service or staff experiences. Staff felt supported and valued by their managers.
The provider had policies and procedures in place relating to equality and diversity. Staff received training and had good knowledge of equality and diversity. The provider actively sought out the views of staff to continuously improve the service.
