Well-led
We assessed 1 quality statement in the well-led key question and found areas of good practice. The scores for this area have been combined with scores based on the rating from the last inspection, which was good. The assessment of this area indicated an area of good practice since the last inspection, therefore our rating for the key question remains good. There was an open and honest culture at the home. Processes in place supported staff to carry out their roles effectively to ensure quality care and support was provided.

The registered manager told us there was an open and honest culture at Ash Villa. We saw staff enter the office multiple times to request information or give the registered manager information which supported this statement. The registered manager was welcoming and receptive to feedback throughout the assessment process. Staff were relaxed and happy in the presence of both the registered manager and regional manager. Staff told us Ash Villa was a nice place to work. Staff were supported in their roles to develop additional skills and further their knowledge. A staff member was completing further training during our visit to strengthen their understanding.
The provider had processes in place to ensure there was an open and honest culture. The provider had an open-door policy and our observations found this to be accurate. The regional manager completed audits to ensure staff worked in line with the values of the provider, which were displayed for all staff to see. Meetings were held to ensure staff were given the opportunity to share ideas and raise any issues. The registered manager encouraged staff to speak up at the meetings to bring about positive change. An equality and diversity policy was in place which included all protected characteristics, policies were available both electronically and, in the office, staff were aware of where policies were stored and read these as part of their induction.
