During a routine inspection
One person was happy to share their person centred plan with us which included photographs of them undertaking activities, on holiday and with family and friends. They told us they had completed many of their goals for the year and they were happy that everything they had wanted to complete for the year was included in their personal plan.
People told us that staff were very helpful and kind. They said staff were easy to talk to and one person pointed out their key worker and said they helped them to go shopping and cook their meals.
Staff said that the training was good and they had completed a lot of training the previous year.
People using the service confirmed they are able to make decisions about their day to day life at 32 A Haddon. They said they are involved in agreeing decisions about their care. One person said they talk to staff every day about the support they need.
We were told that people were given a choice of what they wanted to eat and had help from staff to prepare meals. One person said they shop for their own food and they were going shopping on the day we visited. We were told that people take part in regular house meeting where they discuss mealtimes and menus.
Staff confirmed they receive regular supervision and an annual appraisal. They said that the management were approachable and supportive.
People told us that staff help them to keep their home clean. One person said they like to keep their room tidy and get help to do this. We were told that people were happy living in their flats and enjoyed being able to choose how they are decorated.
One person represented the views of many when they told us, 'It's very good here. I like my flat and I live with my friends and I go to work. The staff are very kind and they always help us when we need some help.'
