They also told us that the staff had explained to them the risks and benefits and cost of the laser eye surgery before their treatment. This was so that they could make an informed decision about whether they wanted to have the surgery.
They told us that the staff had helped them to feel 'confident and at ease' before their surgery, because the staff had fully explained to them what would happen during the procedure. They also told us that the staff had explained what they needed to do to look after their eyes after the surgery. This included information about why it was important to use the eye drops that had been prescribed for them to use and also how to use the eye drops. They told us that they had been given access to a 24 hour telephone number they could ring if they had any concerns about their treatment. They also told us that they had been given a series of follow up appointments and an eye health professional had checked their eyes to make sure they were healthy.
