Our view of the service
5 St Margaret’s Garden is a registered care home providing support to people with a learning disability. An offsite assessment was conducted to review well led quality statements which started on 31 January 2024. The assessment was completed in line with Right Care, Right Support, Right Culture. The provider had not ensured staff understood their corporate strategies and goals. One member of staff had not attended all mandatory training before lone working with people. Agency staff were lone working without having their competencies checked by the registered manager. The registered manager was working in the service supporting people, this meant they did not have oversight of important management tasks. People's care plans were not always up to date or relevant to their current support needs. Staff told us they felt supported by the registered manager who ensured staff were supervised and had regular team meetings. The registered manager involved other professionals in the support of people when required.
