Updated 24 July 2024
We carried out an assessment of this service between 30 July and 15 August 2024. DCC North East Homecare is a domiciliary care service providing short term reablement care to people living in their own homes. At the time of our assessment there were 29 people using the service. The service supports adults under and over the age of 65. At the last inspection in November 2018, this location was rated as good. Following this assessment the service remains good. People received safe care and support. People’s care plans and risk assessments identified people's needs and provided staff with guidance on the actions they were required to take to minimise any risks. Staff were recruited safely and had received regular training to support them in carrying out their roles safely. People and staff told us there were enough staff available. People who used the service were consistently positive about the care and support they received, they told us staff treated them well and supported them with their independence. Staff demonstrated a good understanding of reablement and told us how they worked as part of the providers wider multi-disciplinary team to provide people with the best possible opportunities to the accomplish the goals they wished to achieve. People were provided with regular opportunities to feedback on the care they received and told us they felt involved with the planning of their care. The provider had an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy in place and staff committed to a code of conduct when joining the service which set out the expectation of how they would treat people and carry out their duties.
