All inspections: Vibrance - 626 Green Lane

The service had a very small number of service users at the time of our visit. When asked about Green Lane one person smiled and told us it was alright and they wanted to stay there. People's care, health and welfare needs were being met. We found they were treated with respect and were asked for their consent before any care was provided. There were systems in place to ensure that people received their prescribed medication appropriately.

The provider ensured staff were given training and support to carry out their duties and effectively meet people's needs. People were protected from the risks of unsafe or inappropriate care because accurate and suitable records were maintained.

We found that people who use services had a say in how their care was provided, and that their views and those of people who supported them were considered in the planning and delivery of care. We found that people were safe as there were systems in place to ensure that they were protected from infections. There were sufficient staff to meet the needs of people who use the service. The manager monitored the quality of the service provided and had an oversight of the service, implementing changes to the delivery of care when required.

People using the service said they were happy at the home and that they would not want to move. People's dignity and respect was maintained and people were encouraged and supported to maintain their independence.

People who use the service were happy with the care and support they received from the staff team. They told us that it was a nice home and that they liked living there. One person said, 'Its quiet and I have my own room. It's nice living here. We have meetings and talk about what we do. I have a bunch of keys and can come and go as I want as long as I let people know where I am going. Staff are nice. It's a home from home. We've got comforts and music and we go out. This place is run alright by the manager. Staff are genial and help as best they can. I would recommend it here to people who were thinking of moving in.'

People also told us that they were involved in the running of the home and that they were asked for their opinions about the service and about things that affected their lives.

We saw a letter from the relatives of a person who had passed away recently. It said, 'Thank you for all you did for him. It was obvious that he was very well thought of and had nice friends. It would appear that his last years were maybe his best. He had some nice holidays and many social trips out. What struck us most was the real sense of family at the home.'
