We spoke with four people to find out their views about the treatment and care they had received at the service. The people told us that were pleased with the results of their laser eye surgery and they had been well looked after by staff. They also told us that they had received a thorough eye and health assessment before their surgery to make sure that they were suitable for a laser eye procedure. One person told us that the risks and benefits of laser eye surgery had been fully explained to them by the service. They told us that this had enabled them to make an informed decision about whether they wanted to go ahead with the surgery. The person also told us that they had been given detailed written information about the possible complications of laser eye surgery and had been asked to sign the consent form to say that they had understood the information provided. However, two people told us that the written information given to them had not been fully explained to them by a member of staff. One person told us that the staff had focused more on explaining the benefits of having the surgery, rather than the risks relating to laser eye surgery.
During the inspection visit, we found some concerns relating to the safety and suitability of the premises, cleanliness and infection control, supporting workers and assessing and monitoring the level of service provision.
