Terms of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity
The Registered Provider must not provide nursing care under accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care at Alderwood LLA Ltd - Irchester.
The Registered Provider must only accommodate a maximum of 6 service users at Alderwood LLA Ltd - Irchester.
The registered provider must seek support from a positive behaviour support professional to develop clear and robust positive behaviour support plans and behaviour risk assessments for all service users. Support plans and risk assessments must include clear details of the following:
i. Ensure all service users’ care needs [including but not limited to ensuring a review of crisis intervention plans and associated risks by a qualified person, and as part of a multi-disciplinary team involved in each service user’s care. This review must include an assessment of the use of physical restraint in relation to the risk of harm and the seriousness of that harm to each service user and others, as a last resort where less restrictive options are ineffective];
ii. Evidence of learning from recent incidents;
iii. Escalation plan / crisis intervention plan;
iv. And where appropriate plans must contain detailed, personalised information about any prescribed physical interventions safe to use with the service user. A report demonstrating what actions you have taken to ensure all service users’ needs can be met along with accurate and up-to-date support plans, risk assessments and completed care records must be submitted to the Commission by 12.00pm on 23 December 2024
The registered provider must seek support from a suitable qualified independent professional to complete a review of the training needs, qualifications and competency of all staff, including agency staff [including but not limited to the accurate completion of care logs, identifying and responding to safeguarding concerns, supporting people to prevent distress, supporting people at times of distress, recognising and reporting unexplained injuries, recognising and reporting restrictive practices, completing positive behaviour plans, supporting service users with a learning disability/ autism, use of physical restraint, crisis intervention plans and the Mental Capacity Act] within three working days. You must demonstrate what actions you have taken to ensure staff have the correct skills and competency required. You must identify any outstanding training needs. You must supply evidence of this review to the Commission by 12.00pm on 23 December 2024.
Upon this notice taking effect, the registered provider must arrange for Service User A to be supported by staff who are qualified and assessed as competent to implement their reviewed positive behaviour support plan and crisis intervention plan with immediate effect. The registered provider must provide evidence of such suitably qualified staff providing care to Service User A by 12.00pm on 23 December 2024
The registered provider must ensure that it implements an effective staff dependency tool system to ensure that Alderwood L.L.A. Limited – Irchester has sufficient staffing levels to meet all service users' needs at all times. The registered provider must provide the Commission with a report setting out the steps it has taken to implement the staff dependency tool system by 12.00pm on 23 December 2024
