During a routine inspection
People living at the home said staff were helpful, hard working, polite and respectful. When asked about the support and care provided comments included; 'I can't complain. They look after me and come to check on me in the night.' And 'I am quite happy here.'
Due to their dementia symptoms some people living at the home were unable to express their views. We spent time observing staff in the unit for people with dementia. Staff were kind and encouraging in their manner, took time to explain what they were doing and supported people to make choices, such as during the lunch time meal.
The majority of relatives we spoke with were very pleased with the care at the home. We were told that good care was provided, particularly during any period of poor health and relatives were kept well informed of any changes.
The staff we spoke with told us they were given good training, had good information about people's needs and were made aware of any changes.
The relatives we spoke with confirmed that staff were polite and respectful in their manner.
