During a routine inspection
There were 15 people who used the service at the time of our inspection. We observed the care provided, looked at supporting care documentation, medication records, staff records and records relating to the management of the service. We spoke with the registered manager who is referred to as the manager in the report, the deputy manager, three care workers, six people who used the service and a relative.
This told us people who used the service or their representatives had been involved in making decisions about their care and treatment and had given consent to the care provided. People's care needs had been assessed and care and treatment had been planned and delivered in line with their individual care plan. Comments received included 'Staff are fantastic. The cr'me de la cr'me,' 'They are very kind. Whatever you ask them to do they do it,' and 'I would have nothing to complain about. They are really very thoughtful.'
Appropriate arrangements were in place in relation to obtaining, storing, administering handling and recording medicines.
Robust recruitment procedures were in place.
The records for the management of the home were in place and kept securely.
