During a routine inspection
Relatives told us that they were happy with the care being given to their family member, which one described as being 'excellent', and another as 'the best of care'. They also praised the staff highly.
A regular visitor said that people were well looked after in the home, and that they always looked clean. This person told us that staff appeared to have good relationships with the people living there.
Catering staff told us that they had been given training to help them be aware of the particular nutritional needs of older people with dementia. We were told that people's meals were fortified by the use of full fat milk and cream, as is appropriate for the client group.
We were told by the home's business manager that ancillary staffing hours were being reduced and staff deployment changed.
Staff told us that they felt that were meeting the basic care needs of the people living in the home, but that did not have enough staff to give more individualised care.
Staff told us that they were not being consulted regarding current changes in staffing levels and staff deployment.
