During a routine inspection
As we did not want to intrude on people's privacy in their own home and people were unable to communicate verbally by telephone we were unable to meet or speak with people receiving care. To part bridge this gap we spent time at the office looking at people's care plans and records. We then spoke with the manager and care workers providing care to people. We did this to make sure that people's assessed needs were highlighted in care plans and that the manager and care workers knew what each person's needs were and how they should be met.
The manager told us that they had confidence in their care workers. They told us that people's needs were being met and that they were happy living with their care workers.
Care workers were able to confirm the needs of people in their care and tell us how they were being met.
Care workers complimented the Shared Lives scheme. They told us that they were continually supported and guided and that they could phone the manager for advice. One care worker told us; 'The manager is a real rock. They are there when we need them'.
Overall we found that the location is well run and that the quality of care provided to people by their care worker's is good.
Since this location was registered with us they have changed site so their address is different. We have written confirmation that the manager has made attempts to correct this and verbal assurance that they will continue to do so.
