Updated 7 May 2024
The on site assessment began on 25 June 2024. We undertook the assessment as we had received a safeguarding notification about an incident which had taken place at the service. We did not find any outstanding concerns and were assured that people living at Kirk House were safe and in receipt of good care. There was a positive culture across the service where people felt safe and protected despite the recent events which had taken place. Staff had been trained to recognise and respond to concerns of abuse and staff who were currently employed by the service, spoke with confidence about the processes they would follow. Staff had been recruited in a safe way and had been subject to the necessary and relevant pre-employment checks. People had their needs assessed and care records were in place to support staff to meet people’s needs in line with their wishes and preferences. Staff were observed to be kind and caring, and we observed warm and engaging interactions between people and staff. The management team were visible across the service and supported staff with their professional development in order for them to provide good quality care.
