During a routine inspection
People told us that they were happy with the care and support they received. They said that the staff and management really listened to them and supported them as best they could. One person said, "Everyone's so nice here. The microwave packed up; instead of waiting about the manager went straight out and got another one. That was good because we all use it a lot."
At our previous inspection of this service on 17 December 2012 we found that the kitchen was in a poor state of repair, the communal hallway was shabby and appeared unclean and bathrooms were uninviting and a potential infection control hazard. At this visit we saw that some refurbishment had taken place and the communal areas of the home appeared clean and fresh.
Personnel records we viewed showed that there were effective recruitment and selection processes in place.
A complaints procedure was in place, which explained to people how they could complain should they have the need to. People said they would have no issue about going straight to the manager or to any member of staff if they felt anything was wrong. However, they all said they had never had to. Comments included, 'There is nothing to complain about, they are fantastic here.'
