Clifton House is registered to provide care and support for up to 23 people. The service specialises in care and support for adults to work towards better mental wellbeing and independence. At the time of this inspection, there were 17 people living at the service. This was a planned inspection of quality statements within the key questions of safe, effective, caring and responsive. This inspection took place between 21 February and 24 February 2025. Risks to people had been identified, assessed and planned for with their involvement. Risks from the environment were assessed including fire safety. People told us they were safe, and staff worked in ways to maintain their safety. Safeguarding processes were in place and staff responsible for making referrals to the local authority understood the process. Staff felt supported and were proud to work with people to ensure they lived their life the way they wanted to. People, their relatives and staff had confidence and respect for the registered manager. A member of staff said, “The registered manager is very caring, considered, always has an open door, they are supportive. They support us to take on more responsibility, they like us to own things.” Recruitment processes were robust to ensure staff had the necessary skills and attitude to provide support for people. The culture of the service and staff approach was one of independence for people, in all aspects of their lives. Health and social care professionals who worked with the service were complimentary about the standard of care and support received. Staff worked to ensure people had opportunities and were treated with dignity and respect.
