During a routine inspection
We found that people who use the service were given all the information they needed to make decisions about their care. We observed that people were treated with professionalism and discretion.
We looked at twelve client records which were well completed and indicated a person centred approach to care. There were procedures in place to maintain the records securely and confidentially throughout the service.
The previous manager left on 5th December 2011 and the new manager joined in July 2012. Staff told us that they had felt well supported by other managers and physicians in the interim period.
Staff training and appraisals were not all up to date although we saw evidence that the manager was in the process of addressing these matters.
There were systems in place both locally and at provider level to audit and monitor the quality of the service.
