During a routine inspection
Support plans were individualised and promoted the privacy, dignity and independence of the person concerned. People were happy with the range of activities on offer. Some people were in paid employment. One person spoke with enthusiasm about their job in a caf'; 'We make really, really good food.'
People were supported to carry out domestic tasks, according to their wishes and abilities. Comments included; 'The staff help me. We do housework together. It's teamwork.'
Good support was provided regarding health care. One person told us about a dental appointment saying; 'My key worker will come with me, to sort my teeth, to get my new teeth. Or if I go to the doctor, they take me.' Staff kept good records, helping to ensure that health issues and treatment could be tracked and monitored.
People living at Stanley Grange spoke favourably about staff, telling us they were kind, polite, friendly and approachable. Comments included; 'I like my key worker. I like all the staff.'
Effective recruitment and selection processes, helped to ensure only suitable staff were appointed. Appropriate supervision, support and staff training were provided.
