Treatment of disease, disorder or injury

Condition of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity

The registered provider must provide to CQC a copy of the assessment identified at condition 4 within 5 working days of completion of the assessment and thereafter of completion of those actions

The registered provider must provide a report to the Commission within 7 days and on the Friday of each week thereafter setting out the actions taken to ensure an effective system for the management of environmental risk at Priory Hospital Arnold is in place and being implemented

The provider must not deploy qualified nurses and healthcare support workers, including bank and agency staff who work clinically with patients within Priory Hospital Arnold until they have completed training in, and the provider is assured they have achieved the necessary competencies, in managing patients who are at risk of absconsion and being absent without leave, and who either abscond from, or are absent without leave, from the hospital. The training comprises understanding of the absconsion pack and scenario based provider led training.

The provider must ensure that policies and procedures are in place at Priory Hospital Arnold that provides assurance that staff consistently complete contemporaneous records for patients;
a. who use Section 17 leave of the Mental Health Act 1983
b. who are on enhanced observations
c. and after all incidents, to keep them safe.
The provider must also ensure audit of contemporaneous records and take remedial action if there are failings in record keeping.
