During a routine inspection
The expert by experience observed the relationship between staff and people living in the home. He was not able to speak directly to people because of the communication difficulties that people had. He said staff were friendly and positive towards people. 'As an outsider I was very privileged to meet such wonderful carers. I was very pleased to find that the carers are the kind of people that gives carers a good name. All it leaves me to say is keep up with the good work'.
He spoke with a relative who confirmed that the service was very good. We also spoke with three relatives. They told us that care was very good. One relative said: 'they are a good set of staff. I have never had any problems'.
This was a largely positive inspection. Relatives we spoke with said that care that staff supplied was good.
There were a small number of suggestions: more trips out, a bigger food budget, and for management to always recognise and praise staff when they had done a good job.
