During a routine inspection
Some people said that they had been fully involved in creating their care plan and others said that they were aware of their care plan but did not take a great interest in it. One person said 'I know that I get everything that I need,' and another person said 'I'm in charge of my care.' One person commented 'Staff are very good at explaining things to you.'
People said that they were always treated with respect and that staff were always 'polite.'
Everyone asked was happy with the care that they received. Comments included 'I'm well looked after here' and 'there's nothing they could do better.'
On the day of the visit everyone living at the home was very well presented demonstrating that staff took time to support people with personal care and dressing.
We were told by people that if they had any worries or concerns they would speak to the manager or a member of staff. One person said 'I've never had to report anything but if I did it would be dealt with and there wouldn't be any bad feeling. I'd still be treated with respect.' Another person said 'Staff are always very polite but if they weren't I would report it straight away.'
People living at the home were complimentary about the staff who supported them. Comments included 'Staff are very good and always polite,' 'Staff are always kind' and 'Can't fault the staff, they are very good.'
People living at the home felt that there were enough staff on duty and said that they responded quickly if they rang their bell. One person said 'If they are busy helping someone else when I ring they pop in to make sure I am alright and then come back to me later.'
