During an inspection looking at part of the service

People using the service gave positive comments about the service. They said, 'I am well cared for', 'The staff are all very kind and always ask me what I want', and, 'I'm happy here, they look after me properly'. A visitor told us that staff treated people using the service well and they were 'genuinely caring'.

In the period since our last review we received information from Gateshead Local Authority regarding concerns about care delivery and safeguarding at the service. The local authority told us they had suspended admissions to the home, carried out investigations and given the provider an action plan to follow with timescales. At the time of our visit the home's management said they were addressing the issues from this action plan.

During a routine inspection

People using the service spoke positively about the care and support they received. Their comments included, 'The staff are kind, they look after me properly', 'I'm very happy here', and, 'I get all the help I need, they know me very well'. People told us they liked the food. They said they were satisfied with the accommodation and facilities at the home.
