During a routine inspection

During our inspection we spoke with four people on the telephone that used the service. They all received types of intravenous therapy in their own home. We found that people were able to express their views and had been involved in making decisions about their care and treatment. We looked at documentation, assessments and treatment plans. We found that people's needs were assessed and care and treatment was planned and delivered in line with their individual needs.

We spoke with nursing staff at the agency and on the telephone; they were all able to tell us about their responsibility regarding safeguarding people from abuse.

Nurses received appropriate induction training and opportunities for professional development to enable them to deliver care and treatment to people to an appropriate standard.

The provider had effective systems in place to regularly assess and monitor the quality of service that people received.
