Date of assessment 18 July 2024 to 31 July 2024. Longcliffe care home is a care home providing accommodation and personal care to up to 42 people. At the time of our assessment there were no people using the service. This assessment was prompted by information we held about this service. We assessed a total of 7 quality statements. At the last inspection, this location was rated inadequate. During this assessment, we found the location remains inadequate. There were no people using the service, so we were unable to assess people’s experience. There were no staff working at the service, so we were unable to get feedback from staff. There had been changes to the leadership team. There was a new nominated individual (The nominated individual is responsible for supervising the management of the service on behalf of the provider). There was no registered manager in post because they recently resigned from this position. Redecoration and refurbishment had taken place and was ongoing. This included upgrading fire safety systems and flood proofing the basement. All policies and procedures had been updated or were in the process of being updated so that risks could be identified and managed in the safest way. There were no staff at the service but 10 staff remained employed and they were to be re interviewed and retrained so they understood the provider’s new policies and procedures and ways of working. New governance systems were in place to support the provider to monitor the safety and quality of the service. The provider was being supported by an external consultancy to make improvements.
