During a routine inspection
During our inspection we saw staff speaking with people who used the service in a polite and friendly manner. We found that people were supported to become as independent as possible before they were discharged from Fourways. People told us they were given enough information about their care and support and they were involved in the way that the service was delivered.
We checked the procedures in place to ensure that people who lived at Fourways were protected from abuse. The people who lived there told us that they felt safe and we saw that staff had received training to recognise different types of abuse. We found that the provider had taken the necessary steps to ensure that people were protected.
Staff told us they felt supported and that they were happy to raise issues with senior staff. We saw that there was regular training in place to ensure that staff members kept up to date.
We found that there was a quality monitoring programme in place and there were various systems in place to ensure that quality was monitored on a regular basis. There was evidence that action was taken to improve the quality of the service when this was required.
