During a routine inspection
People who used the service told us they were happy and contented with the care they received. Each person had a care and support plan in place. The plans were person centred and contained details of their personal history, their likes and dislikes and described how they would like the service to work for them.
The care records we looked at were detailed and contained risk assessments related to people's individual needs. We saw evidence of an initial personal assessment and care plan, which included input form the person using the service, the provider and significant family member.
All the people we spoke with told us they felt safe. We saw evidence of staff training in relation to safeguarding. All the staff we spoke with had a good understanding of safeguarding.
We spoke to four members of staff and all told us they had received at least four supervisions in 2012. One member of staff told us:' The manager also works with us to observe the care we give'. One person we spoke with told us: 'The staff are very competent and skilful'.
