People's experience of the service

Updated 19 July 2024

The feedback we received from people and their family members was positive. Although some people commented they would like to see more staff on duty, everyone we spoke with told us they were safe. People and relatives provided positive feedback about the facilities, mainly the garden and bistro area. However, some people commented on the design of the building and its fixtures and fittings as areas to be improved. We saw examples of people struggling to get out of chairs and people told us the furniture was not easy to use. People told us chairs were too low and were made of material which made it difficult to clean. People told us they felt involved in decisions about their care. People were supported to receive visitors when they wished to and visitors were made welcome by staff. Several brought their dogs with them and joined in activities with their family members in the garden. People’s care and treatment met their needs and promoted equality and diversity.
