We reviewed the electronic care and treatment records for four young people. We found evidence that there were procedures in place to ensure their consent was gained in relation to the care and treatment provided for them.
We saw that care records clearly identified the needs of the person and included information on why they had accessed the service. Risk assessment information had also been documented in the records we looked at.
We found evidence that there were effective systems in place for the safe administration of medicines although some audits needed to be further developed to ensure that any discrepancies in the amounts of individually dispensed medication could be easily identified.
We found there were sufficient numbers of staff on duty to meet the needs of people accessing the service. Action had been taken to identify and increase their staffing levels so that they could meet the needs of young people in the area of Lancashire .
