All Inspections

During a routine inspection

On the day of our inspection at Woodlands, there were 11 services users living at the home. We spoke to one person who lives there, they told us that they liked living at the home. They said "The staff help me to get dressed and have a bath or shower". They also told us that the food was nice and they had been baking at the day centre on the day of our visit. We observed staff having a positive rapport with the people who were sat in the lounge, there was genuine support and warmth.

We spoke with a relative of a person living at the home. They told us that they had no complaints about the service and that they observed good staff interaction with their relative. They also told us that they felt the staff were dedicated to their roles and have a good range of specialist learning disability skills.

They said that the staff always made time to respond to any discussions and staff were caring and supportive, making it feel homely for the people who live at Woodlands. If there were any issues with regards to their relatives care the home always kept the relatives informed. We spoke with a relative who told us the staff went the extra mile with the care they delivered, and supported people in a respectful and dignified way. The relative told us that their family member is treated as an individual even though they were unable to communicate themselves, which was important to family. This showed the home was responsive to individual people's care needs.
