During a routine inspection

The manager told us the agency supplied qualified nurses to a variety of settings ranging from large hospital trusts to community health centres and schools. It did not supply nurses to people in their own homes.

Human resource managers purchasing the service from external organisations to supplement staff teams told us that the nursing staff supplied by this agency were suitably vetted and qualified.

A manager from a healthcare organisation told us the agency was reliable in providing qualified nursing staff. They found that staff supplied were competent and experienced and matched the need of the placement requests.

A purchasing manager described the positive outcomes experienced by children and their families as a result of the care and support received from the skilled nursing staff supplied by the agency. They had repeated requests from families for the same nurses who worked well with children and families.

The agency established professional relationships with purchasers. They reviewed and monitored the placements to check if the service was meeting their needs, or if there were any areas where improvements were needed.

During a routine inspection

The agency employs staff that are competent and responsive in dealing with requests to supply qualified nurses. Office based staff are qualified and have the skills and ability to match and appropriately place the nurses required on placements.

A procurement officer of a large Trust told us that this agency had a track record with the hospital of supplying nurses and midwives who had the exact experience and training, skills and the competencies required to deliver the care required on the placement. Another purchasing manager described the positive outcomes experienced by children and their families as a result of the care and support received from the skilled nursing staff supplied by the agency. Following the recent audit of staff files undertaken for the London Procurement Programme, it was reported to us that that the agency had scored high in all areas relating to recruitment and training of the nurses they employed.

The agency maintains effective working relationships with stakeholders. It makes sure that they are in regular contact with representatives from purchasers and with people that use the service. They review and monitor the placements to check if the service is meeting their needs, or if there are any areas where improvements are needed.
