During a routine inspection
We found that people were fully involved in discussions about their needs and care. One person said that 'nothing is too much trouble for the staff.' People told us that they were always treated with respect.
We found there was a good level of communication and contact between staff and people using the service. Care and daily routines were centred around people's individual needs and preferences. A relative told us 'if I was old, I would be happy to come here.'
People were protected from the risk of abuse, staff knew how to raise any concerns. We found that staff had received relevant training for their job. Staff were supported in their work and were confident that they were able to provide the care required.
We found that current quality monitoring systems require strengthening to ensure the quality of care that people receive is regularly assessed and monitored.
People were protected from the risks of unsafe or inappropriate care and treatment because accurate and appropriate records were maintained. We found the provider had clear and effective systems in place relating to record keeping.
