Stoneyford Care Home is a ‘care home’ providing personal care and support to older people and people living with dementia. The service was supporting 22 people with their personal care needs. Stoneyford Care Home was last rated inadequate (published 6 February 2024). The report was published following CQC’s old inspection approach using key lines of enquiry (KLOEs), prompts and ratings characteristics. This assessment has been completed following the Care Quality Commission (CQC) new approach to assessment; Single Assessment Framework (SAF). We carried out our on-site assessment on 9 April 2024 to follow up on enforcement actions and improvements we have told the provider to take following our previous inspection. This was an unannounced assessment, which means the provider was not told an assessment was going to be starting beforehand. During this assessment we looked at all 34 quality statements; Learning culture; Safe systems, pathways and transitions; Safeguarding; Involving people to manage risks; Safe environments; Safe and effective staffing; Infection prevention and control; Medicines Optimisation; Assessing needs; Delivering evidence-based care and treatment; How staff, teams and services work together; Supporting people to live healthier lives; Monitoring and improving outcomes; Consent to care and treatment; Kindness, compassion and dignity; Treating people as individuals; Independence, choice and control; Responding to people’s immediate needs; Workforce wellbeing and enablement; Person-centred care; Care provision, integration and continuity; Providing information; Listening to and involving people; Equity in access; Equity in experiences and outcomes; Planning for the future; Shared direction and culture; Capable, compassionate and inclusive leaders; Governance, management and sustainability; Freedom to speak up; Partnerships and communities; Learning, improvement and innovation and Workforce equality, diversity and inclusion.
