Our view of the service
Service to the Aged is a registered care home that provides personal and nursing care to people of the Jewish faith, some of whom may be living with dementia. The home is registered to accommodate 60 people. At the time of our on site assessment 58 people were being supported in the home. The last rating for the service was requires improvement, (published 3 September 2021) and there was a breach of regulation. The provider completed an action plan to show what they would do and by when to improve. We carried out an unannounced visit to the home on 19 June 2024, which was attended by 1 inspector/assessor and an Expert by Experience. An Expert by Experience is a person who has personal experience of using or caring for someone who uses this type of care service. We ended our assessment activity on 30 June 2024. We looked at 4 key questions; Safe, Effective, Responsive and Well-Led. We covered a range of quality statements including; Safe systems and pathways, Safeguarding; Involving people to manage risks; Safe and effective staffing; Consent to care and treatment, Person-centred care, Assessing needs, Capable, compassionate and inclusive leaders and Governance, management and sustainability.
