During a routine inspection

Most people we spoke with understood the support they received and told us they liked the staff and said they helped them in the right way. They were satisfied with the assistance they received. One person told us 'I like living here' and told us about the help they received to move into a new home. Another said 'Staff help me'. Relatives we spoke with confirmed that the service was reliable and consistent and one described the care and support as fabulous. Another said 'They're very professional' and a third that 'I'm really pleased with the service; the carer is realty good'.

We found there were sufficient staff to provide a reliable service and that people's views were taken in to consideration when monitoring the quality of the service.

During an inspection looking at part of the service

We carried out this review to look at improvements the provider had made following our last compliance visit in June 2012. We did not visit the service but based our judgement on information provided by the service showing what action they had taken to meet the required legislation.

During a routine inspection

People using the service told us they liked living independently and liked the support they received. They told us they liked the staff. One person said 'I like it here' and one said their carer 'looks after me'.

Relatives we spoke with also confirmed that people were treated with respect and that they were kept informed and involved in key decisions. One relative described the service as 'fantastic' and another said it was 'invaluable'.

A relative told us they 'couldn't fault' the service and told us they were 'over the moon' with it. Another relative told us the person they were involved with was 'learning new skills all the time' and was more independent as a result of using the service. They also told us that staff kept them informed of any changes in circumstances. A third relative told us that the service was 'absolutely wonderful' and that they would be 'lost without it'.
