During a routine inspection
We spoke with four patients. They were positive about the service and told us that the staff were helpful and friendly. One patient told us that the service was 'very good' and that the staff were 'lovely'. Another said that is was 'brilliant ' and that the staff were 'very friendly, easy to communicate with.'
There was information on display for patients about the treatment available and its costs. Patients told us they were happy with the appointment system, and that they usually ran on time. There was a complaints system, and patients told us they felt able to make a complaint, but had not needed to.
Patients had their teeth and oral health assessed. When treatment was needed the dentist explained this to them, and they were usually given a written treatment plan which was signed by themselves and the dentist.
The service had processes for effective infection control. There was a separate sterilisation room for cleaning, decontaminating and sterilising medical instruments.
Staff were appropriately registered and had completed appropriate training.
There was processes in place for ensuring the smooth running of the service, and for monitoring the quality of the service provided.
