Updated 11 January 2024
Date of assessment 11 January to 6 March 2024. This was the first assessment of this newly registered service. We looked at the overall quality of the service and provided a rating for the service under the Health and Social Care Act 2008. We carried out an assessment of the service including site visits on 11, 15 and 23 January 2024. The team included 2 inspectors. We spoke with 7 people, 6 relatives and 6 staff, including the registered manager, nominated individual, care staff, the deputy manager and the chef/cook. The nominated individual is responsible for supervising the management of the service on behalf of the provider. Following the site visit we reviewed a range of documents relating to the running of the service. We received feedback from 4 health or social care professionals. People received good support and were in control of their care. Staff supported them to make choices and to be as independent as they were able. Risks in people’s care were managed appropriately and staff supported them to access external health and social care support. People had developed positive relationships with staff and spoke highly of the team. During our visits to Annefield Grange, we observed a positive caring culture where staff showed kindness and compassion to people and clearly knew them well. Staff told us they enjoyed working in the service. There was a strong and visible management team who led by example and promoted learning. Processes were in place to assess and promote an open culture that was inclusive to all. Staff were supported to perform their duties to a high standard and were involved in improving and developing the service. There were effective systems of oversight and governance which delivered positive results.
