Our view of the service
We carried out this on-site announced assessment on 29 October 2024. This report is an overview of the findings from the inspection day. The report may not detail all the findings from the day, although the inspection was completed in line with our current methodology, gathering evidence from numerous sources to evaluate the service. We found the practice had met all regulations. There was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement. Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our assessment, could access care, support and treatment when required. Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance and infection control procedures were in place. The practice had systems to manage risks. We identified minor shortfalls in the management of fire safety, and training compliance. Assurance was given following the assessment that these shortfalls were being addressed. Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation. However, these were not applied consistently as references were not sought in line with the providers policy. The practice is in Kidderminster, Worcestershire and provides NHS dental care and treatment for adults and children. There was step free access to the practice and car parking spaces, including dedicated parking for disabled people, were available near the practice. The practice had 4 treatment rooms. During the assessment we spoke with 2 dentists, 2 dental nurses and the receptionist.
People's experience of this service
We reviewed patient feedback collected by the provider. This provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice. The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
