During a routine inspection
We reviewed two plans of care. These showed us that every time people visited the Smile Design By Ash their dental health and general well being was checked to make sure that before any treatment commenced the person was well enough to have the dental treatment.
We inspected the premises and found that the practice followed Department of Health (DH) guidance for infection control. We inspected the dental practice's emergency drugs and oxygen and found that they were checked regularly.
We saw evidence that staff received appropriate professional development and were supported through regular supervision and annual appraisal. This meant people were assured that they would only be treated by competent staff.
The dental practice used feedback from their customers to gauge people's satisfaction and the quality of service provided and had a system in place for learning from any incidents.
One person said, 'I have always been scared of coming to the dentist, but I am having a great experience here.'
