During a routine inspection
We saw that treatment plans, options, including all costs, and risks had been explained and recorded and a copy given to the patient. One person said 'They certainly explain all my options before I decide' and 'Yes, I feel very safe here'.
We saw that staff had recently attended chidren and young people safeguarding training which meant that they had received up to date information with regards to safeguarding and reporting concerns. We also saw documents which confirmed that staff employed by the provider held checks with the disclosure and barring service. However people who use the service may not always be protected from the risk of abuse, because the provider had not taken reasonable steps to identify the possibility of abuse and prevent abuse from happening.
We found that people were not always protected from the risk of infection because appropriate guidance had not been followed.
We also found that the provider did not have an effective system in place to identify, assess and manage risks to the health, safety and welfare of people who use the service and others.
