During a routine inspection
People expressed their views and were involved in making decisions about their care and treatment. The practice regularly obtained the views of people using the service. We saw the results from a recent patient satisfaction survey which had taken place the preceding month. The comments received were very positive.
The practice facilities were clean and well maintained. There were appropriate floor and surface coverings throughout, so that the premises could be cleaned to a sufficient standard to reduce the risk of infection.
Appropriate arrangements were in place to ensure checks were undertaken before staff began work. This included carrying out a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check, ensuring people had the right to work in the UK and taking up references from previous employers.
Audits were regularly undertaken, looking at areas including record keeping and infection control. Where audits identified areas for improvement, action plans were devised and implemented.
